Why We Give:
Jesus talked a lot about money. In fact, he talked more about money than even Heaven and Hell. Sixteen of the thirty-eight parables were concerned with how to handle money and possessions. In the Gospels, an amazing one out of ten verses (288 in all) deal directly with the subject of money. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions. Why is money such a big deal?
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The eye is the lamp of the body. If your vision is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your vision is poor, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." - Jesus, in Matthew 6:19-24.
You see, what you do with your money reveals what is in your heart. In the words of evangelist Billy Graham, "Give me five minutes with a person's checkbook, and I will tell you where their heart is." Because following Jesus is all about being selfless, we are called to be generous givers. If we claim that Jesus is Lord of our lives, that should include our finances, too.

Support your local church family in spreading the Gospel.
Align your heart and finances according to God's will.
